“College is Kinda Lonely” is a final project for my Intro to Film class that is in response to Sound of Metal (Darius Marder, 2019).

It is a reinterpretation of the film’s final scene in the context of being a college student. I noticed that most students, including myself, move about campus with earbuds in paying little attention to their surroundings. After watching Sound of Metal, it led me to realize how I took for granted the soft, calming sounds of campus in the fall scenery.
